Where to Stay
There are a lot of accommodations around La Jolla and the pricing can vary quite a bit, both from hotel to hotel
and also depending on when you make your reservations. Our best advice is to note the locations of the events on the
above map and then search a travel website for hotels in the vicinity to see what kind of deal you can get.
Below are a few options we have looked at:
Best Western, La Jolla
$140-$160/night. Right in downtown La Jolla, close to shopping, the La Jolla Cove boardwalk,
The Museum of Contemporary Art, and restaurants. While you can walk a lot of places from this hotel,
this area can get congested at times so it may not be the best location if you plan to drive in and out a lot.
Other hotels in this vicinity tend to be on the expensive side.
Residence Inn, La Jolla
$180/night. Close to everything, including the freeway, which should make it easy to come and go (except at rush hour).
All units have kitchenettes. There are many other comparable hotels in this vicinity.
La Jolla Shores Hotel
$230/night. This is the place to stay if you want to be on the beach.
Has more of a "resort" feel to it with a nice courtyard, pool,
and Spanish architecture. If you plan to spend a lot of time hanging around the hotel, this would be a nice choice.
There are not really any other hotels in the area that are on the beach like this.
